Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped

I’ve not been to many art galleries over the last 18 months, so getting the once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Christo & Jeanne-Claudes final project, ‘L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped’, in Paris, in person, really made up for the months of lost art time! We visited first thing on a Monday morning, after the opening weekend. While we weren’t so lucky with the weather, visiting in the drizzle was an experience all of its own — with no crowds, and the silver fabric giving a different kind of shimmer against the grey skies.

I’m still pinching myself that we were able to see and experience such a special piece of art. We took home a piece of the fabric that covers the Arc through the exhibit, and I’m hoping to find a little frame to house it as a very special souvenir.

A short video of Wrapped is on Instagram at @meganmckean.
