Rainbow Spotting: Burano, Venice

The rainbow fishing island of Burano had been on my bucket list for years, and not just because it’s a guaranteed Insta-heaven of coloured houses and sweet canals. It’s a straightforward trip via public transport to get to Burano, but is surprisingly expensive to do (€7.50 each way; so after the conversion to Australian dollars for our trip, it was $50.00AUD for the day to get there and back via ferry). If you’re thinking of taking your own trip there, perhaps combine it with a transport pass, or plan for more travel in a 24hr period and you could maximise the one-day pass which is €20.00 for unlimited trips on the vaporetto. If you’re prepping to hunt for colour, you’ll be pleased to see the ferries are great colours inside too! We had a bright blue and a minty green one and it contributed to the whole day being a big colour-fest!
