Cool in Canberra for Expedia
A few weeks ago Joshua and I skipped out of Sydney a little early before the official weekend, and made the road trip to Canberra to do some exploring! We spent a couple of days in the nation's capital (pretty much the first time since primary school for both of us - we gave Questacon a miss this time around) eating at some great places, seeing some great sights, and of course, a stop in for the famed Freakshakes (those things are deadly, I'm telling you)! We shared some of our finds over on Expedia, to help you plan your own trip there!
We stayed at the very excellent QT Canberra , committed to their politician theme right down to the gilt wallpaper with a kaleidoscope pattern of politicians from throughout history. We ate at some great places, notably Mocan & Green Grout, which is conveniently just behind QT! Makes the early starts much more manageable when you can just about roll out of bed and into a cafe! Our favourite stop was the NGA, with so much artwork to get through I could have happily stayed there for a full day! James Turrell's Skyspace was up there on my list of favourite art installations of all time - possibly nearly even beating Anish Kapoor's 'Cloud Gate' in Chicago!
