Chair Tuesday: Splinter

This lovely chair is by Japanese studio Nendo. Apart from having a really nice form it also has an interesting little element where the backrest splits as it curves around to form the legs and armrests. This chair is part of a whole range of furniture called Splinter, which, as the name suggests, are designed in the same vein where the cylindrical skeletons of each piece split up to form the various parts of each piece.
I think it's a really nifty idea which was well executed and it definitely gives the chairs some character.
