Day 12 // Disneyland

Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket Disney day! Being the attraction you dream of when you're a kid, we thought we'd best make a stop since we were in the area. A 20 minute walk from our hotel this morning saw kids getting roused on by parents for misbehaviour, and families who were clearly repeat visitors to the park outfitted completely in Disney branded outfits. The gate queues were a spectacle in themselves, one family kitted entirely in fluro orange, the high visibility ensuring no-one would get lost. Another team of people were sporting blue shirts with 'Davies Disney Trip 2012' emblazoned on the front. We probably would have enjoyed the experience a lot more ten years ago, but it was still a fun day. The attention to detail was probably the most impressive, the 'imagineers' definitely earn their credentials. From the shop facades, the paint finishing on the handrails, to the food carts that are placed around the park, it's all very adorable, clean and seamless. Despite being the off-season (although we're not sure Disney really has one of those) there were still massive queues for many of the rides that we weren't really keen on committing to. All in all, it was a fun day. We went home with tired legs and ready for a nap at 4pm, and also glad we that don't have kids. Families who Disney for 12 hours straight for a few days in a row must know a secret that we don't!
