I tend to have a very short attention span when it comes to crafts. I learned how to knit when I was 12 or 13, and never progressed past making scarves, which is a very polite way of saying I would knit long strips of yarn and try to pass them off as a fashion item. Sewing fell by the wayside after high school textiles classes - there's only so many times I can stitch through my fingers before I quit. A few weeks ago I decided to learn how to crochet. I had a stab at it a few winters ago, but couldn't quite get it. On an impulse I bought 15 balls of yarn one day and decided I'd get into it. A few online tutorials later I was granny-squaring away and eventually this is what I finished with. It's going to be gifted to my dear friend, an early birthday present before winter says goodbye. I've started on another for our little home, trying out a different pattern style, and I'm hoping that I'll have the patience to finish it before my craft attention span wanes again!
