Chair Tuesday: Lightwood Chair

This chair by Jasper Morrison is quite elegant.  Little surprise from the name, it looks wonderfully light with impossibly thin legs and supports and plenty of open spaces to see through.
I really enjoy how Japer used the webbing for the seat, giving the padding without any extra material and giving tiny peek-holes that give it even more lightness.  Although it also comes in a textile base, I think it looks best in the webbing.

Made by Japanese company timber furniture Maruni, the complimentary table are also very nice and keeping with the theme of amazing lightness.  The birch is beautiful and really shines through in these designs, which is what you would expect from a company that specialises in timber.
