Chair Tuesday: Organic Chair

Today's chair is a little special, because I have one!  Well, not a real one, but for my birthday Megan was lovely enough to buy me a little model Organic chair, the product of a collaboration between the Eames and Eero Saarinen.

Designed for the MOMA's "Organic" exhibition in 1940, it didn't go into production till the fifties because the technology didn't exist to make it cost effectively.

It would have been amazing to be present during the collaboration sessions, to see such great designers working together to produce some wonderfully thought out furniture.  It also comes in a high back, but i don't much care for that one. I think the shape of it is much nicer as it is.

And I'm led to believe that it's quite comfortable too.
