It's not too often that my short attention span becomes a problem. Hour long lectures are tolerable, considering I can turn up a few minutes late, and start packing up a few minutes early - so this really only becomes a 45 minute focus-session.
It had been quite a while since I'd had to sit for long times and look at one thing.
E was in a play. A local performance of 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. Scoring a prominent role and being quite talented, I had been looking forward to seeing her 'do her thang'. I wasn't really committed to having to sit still and quietly for 4 hours.
I have the attention span of a 4 year old with ADHD.
The ladies behind me were bitching, saying at a most audible level 'The girl in front of me keeps flinging her head around, won't sit still...'
I tried very hard after this to behave.
MrIkea caught me staring at the ceiling at one point, counting the number of lights.
The performance was quite good, E was brilliant. I, however, was not.
I most definitely need to work on my concentration skills.
If not for myself, then for the sake of elderly women everywhere who have to sit behind me.
