I worked on these invitations earlier in the year for my dearest friend Priscila. They always say you shouldn't work for your friends or family, but this was a seriously dreamy project and seriously dreamy clients. Maybe it helps having known her since we were in kindergarten - I could probably foresee a few of her requests easier than others! Priscila had a few elements she wanted included, such as 'pomegranate, gold, painting and some loose lettering'. I layered up different levels of watercolour paint to make the abstracted background, and worked on some hand lettering for their names. Combined with a stronger typeface to offset the girlyness, and I then had main invite gold foiled, and the white envelopes lined with a gold shiny liner. These were so much fun to work on, and made for a great envelope package to receive in the mail.
The nice part about this project (aside from celebrating a special wedding) was seeing how well the tone of the invitations had set the theme for the wedding and reception. Crisp white linens, on tables strewn with pomegrates, tulips, roses, rosemary and sweet pea, along with gold accents. MAGIC.
