We've started our USA trip with another stop in at our favourite city from our last visit to America - beautiful Palm Springs in sunny California. It's been a very sunny stay indeed, with temperatures most days being around 40 degrees. There's no humidity like Australian summers though, it's just a really dry heat that sneaks up on you about 3 minutes after you're out of air conditioning.
I'm working hard at having a proper break from everything (how ridiculous when you have to consciously relax!) and resort living sure suits. We've been taking sunset pool swims and then watching the moon from the hot tub, surrounded by tiki torches, palm trees and mountain silhouettes.
There's not too much in the way of sightseeing in Palm Springs, unless you're looking for art galleries or guided tours to old Hollywood homes, and of course the Aerial Tramway that we went on last December. It's been nice to revisit somewhere quite small, it feels familiar but without the pressure to see as much as possible.
Our days have been spent vintage shopping, swimming, and driving around to admire the mid-century homes and incredible architecture that abounds on most of the streets. We spent a couple of hours cruising (in our ridiculous hire car that Josh just loves) and pulling over to snap photos of incredible houses.
It's so nice to be back! Palm Springs, I love you!
